A Mother’s Love…
Happy Mother’s Day OLTL Readers!!
A Mother’s love
A Mother’s love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.

Last Stop… Grand Cayman Islands
Hello OLTL Readers!!
After all the fun and touring of Mexico and Honduras, I was exhausted. I needed a little R&R… while on vacation. Imagine that! The hiking, sightseeing (mostly done on foot), swimming and even zip lining (in Mexico) was so much fun. I probably lost a few pounds, especially after eating the delicious cheesecake dessert I ordered from room service. There was not a dull moment in sight! But I needed to slow down a bit and just enjoy the remainder of the trip with my family and new friends.
Did I tell you I went to Hell and back?…. Really I did!!!
There is actually a village/town in Grand Cayman named Hell! It was named after the rock formations shown in the below photos. Now imagine getting a postcard from Hell mailed from their local post office!
As a part of the sightseeing tour, we also toured the Dolphin Discovery Park, where you able to swim with the dolphins and learn about their natural habitats. Dolphins and porpoises have been my favorite mammals since I can remember. I couldn’t miss this!
I also met this little character below. I’m not sure if this was a male or female but he kept straying from his family to watch the dolphins and the tourists… or maybe just hunting for food.
All good things must come to an end and now it is time to go back to the ship and sail home…
I hope you have enjoyed the photos from my first cruise. Thanks for stopping by!!
And now back to our regular scheduled programming….

Visiting Honduras
Hello Everyone!!
While on our 7-day Carnival cruise, we stopped in Honduras for the day. I awoke at 6:30 am to get a photo of the sun rising. To my surprise it was extremely cloudy and clouds threatened an outpour of rain. I was a bit disappointed but the remainder of the day made up for that. As we pulled into the port, we saw a partly sunken ship that must have been there for years.
It was said that no one was allowed to snorkel in or around the ship without facing legal action as it was deemed a historical site.
After breakfast, the sun made an appearance but it still remained somewhat cloudy for most of the day. We visited an animal sanctuary and butterfly where I captured my favorite photos of the trip!
Enjoy!!

Welcome to Miami (Part II)
Hello Everyone!!!
In my last post “Welcome to Miami”, I shared a few photos of Miami. What I didn’t tell you was that these photos were taken at the Miami Port. I was headed on a 7-day cruise!! Yes, I ‘ve been hiding that little gem for a while.
It was the most exhilarating and apprehensive feeling knowing that I was going on ginormous ship for 7 days to countries I have only seen on television, in magazines and other people’s photos… yes, I don’t get out much.:) Now before we get into the details of the trip, let me preface this post by stating that I get extremely seasick and always have since my first cruise at 9 years old with my parents. I vowed never to get on a ship ever again. Once again, at 22, I went on a smaller boat and decided to go to the highest deck and look over the side… I am sure you can finish that story
. How did I arrive at the decision to take this adventure on? I wanted to engage with other cultures and learn about their history, discover new cuisines and capture as much on camera as possible.
So, here I am in the Port of Miami boarding the Carnival Glory and realizing this ship is where I will eat, sleep and party for the next 7 days while travelling to Mexico, Honduras and finally to the Grand Cayman Islands. Let the fun times begin!!
Now onto the photos!!!
Sayin’ goodbye to Miami….

Welcome to Miami
Hello OLTL Readers!!
Do you ever just get the feeling to pack a bag and jump on a plane to anywhere? The daily grind of work, eat, sleep and back to work again was finally taking its toll on me and I needed a break from it all. Well, I did just that.On March 16th, I found myself toting two full packed suitcases with as many summer outfits I could find in my closet and strolling into the airport.
“Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. This is your captain speaking and welcome aboard…” Before I knew what happened next I was sound asleep.
Within a few short hours I was in beautiful Miami!! Even though it is was cloudy, I could still feel the warmth in which the city greeted me. Ahhhh!!
More to come on this adventure!! So stay tuned!
