About The Blog

What is Onelifethislife…

One day not so long ago, I was struck with the realization that I have not yet lived. Yes, I wake up every morning to see a new day but I truly never really live that day. I have become so consumed with the daily routine of waking up, going to work and before you know it it’s time to wake up again. I imagine that some may be satisfied with that. I no longer am. I have forgotten what it feels like to live my dreams and as a result I lost so much time not doing so. My grandmother is 88 years old. I could sit and listen to the memories of her life for hours on end. As I write this note to all of you, I think…hmm, I want to have stories and memories like those of my grandmother to share.

Welcome you to Onelifethislife!

How ever you live your life…
Be sure to capture the love, the beauty, joy, all the firsts and lasts even the melancholy moments. It’s because of these memories that you will continue to smile beyond these moments themselves. These moments are all a part of what we call life; your life. Therefore make it all count… you’ve got Onelifethislife!

Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you again.

    • Thanks Alex. I should have done this years ago. But as they say, “better late than never”. I finally got my internet back and will be posting the “real” photos from yesterday. Hope you’ll enjoy them as well.

  1. Hi!! Love the name one life this life. And you are so true about capturing all the love and beauty around us. I loved sitting near my grandmother and listening to the stories she told. She’s no more now but still her stories remain fresh as ever. Great work with the blog. Keep up the good work!!!

    • Thank you for your comment. I am so glad that you enjoyed it! I will definitely continue to take pictures even after the project is complete! And as to my life, I try to live everyday like it was the last! Thank you for visiting and stop by anytime!

    • Thank your for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! Feel free to stop by anytime!! I try to post photos that capture what I’m feeling that day or those that inspire me in some way. I that you’ll enjoy them as much as I do.

  2. I wake up everyday and think…Oh My God…where did yesterday go? I am trying to slow down my life and one way to do that is to declutter your life. If there are lesser things in your life, it helps! So I’ve have now started give away my art collection…not all of it but yes, around 40-50 artworks to close friends. The rest is on my walls…and I have realized that I have now worry less about stocking the works, preserving them and so on…
I also decided to stick to one business and shut everything else I did. This helped me focussed on one thing and game me ample time to spend time with my family, go for walks, work with a not for profit organization, write.
The last thing which I am working on is getting back to my photography, and though I already have a blog with my pictures, I want to start traveling again and experience the world…and have stories to tell like your grandmother! Keep up the good work!

    • Thanks for visiting Onelifethislife and sharing your journey. I have a feeling your stories will wonderful ones and hope that you will continue to share them. I wish you the very best!!!

  10. I know that when you are 88, you’ll be telling the most amazing and inspiring stories to your grandchildren huddled around your feet. It’s the choices and decisions we make early on in life to choose what is important. What is worth living for. What is beautiful. And to make a life worth remembering. I know yours will turn out to be a beautiful story. I wish you the good life my dear one! Many hugs, Sharon

  11. What a wonderful message! I felt like this too back in March- I quit my job of two years and haven’t looked back. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been with a new life of meditation, dog walking, drawing, reading, blogging and as little housework as I can get away with! Bliss!

    • Jason thanks for stoping by Onelifethislife!! I have not had a chance to visit your blog but I will. I am really glad you enjoyed the posts. I hope that you’ll visit again.

  12. Great words. I could not agree more. I am also in this process of making my life more livable and not mundane. It’s so important that more people do this before it’s too late

  14. Hello, thanks for visiting my blog! I fully agree with you… reading your ‘about’ page reminded me of a favourite quote from an Italian movie:
“Don’t be content to survive. You must demand to live in a better world, not just dream about it.”
    – “Simone” in La Finestra di Fronte (Facing Windows)

  15. Hi I love the name of your blog. So true, we have this one life so we may as well make every second count and appreciate the beauty and wonder all around us. Look forward to following your blog. Lisa ❀
